The Year in Fandom Meme
Your main fandom of the year?
I'd have to say that I dropped out of fandom this year really - I'm still a fan of things, comedy, Tennant and there was a bunch of new things I discovered that I love, but fandom participation - icon making, fic reading, comm reading etc was fairly minimal this year.
Your favorite film you watched this year?
Skyfall - I didn't see a lot of films this year, but Skyfall would be my favourite even had I seen a bunch more i think. For me it put the Bond back into Bond. I even have the other Daniel Craig Bond's to watch now, whereas I had given up on Bond because it just wasn't doing it for me prior to Skyfall. But I just loved it...
Your favorite book read this year?
How do I pick. I really enjoyed Karen Chance's two series of books, the Cassie Palmer's and the Midnight's Daughter's books - I did a lot of re-reading of old favourites too. Tamora Pierce, and Anne McCaffery etc...
Your favorite tv show of the year?
Bunheads, White Collar, Elementary, Once Upon a Time, The Newsroom, New Girl, Grey's Anatomy, Sherlock - at various times all of these were "favourite"
Your best new fandom discovery of the year?
Sherlock. Entirely the fault of![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
earlgreytea68 - my hatred of teh Moff's writing style is still alive and well and even though I have found MORE to like about Who since Christmas 2011 to now and taught my brain to switch off instead of raging about what I hate I don't think I would have ever tried Sherlock if not for the scotch series she wrote.
Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
That horrible True Love show Billie and David were in. Hated it. Was uber excited but as pretty as it was best watched with the sound off - or viewed as caps - simply AWFUL.
Your fandom boyfriend of the year?
David Tennant - always and forever. Paul McDermott - also always and forever. What can I say, I'm a hussy. Also crushed heavily on Martin Freeman and Robert Carlyle and Matt Bomer.
Your fandom girlfriend of the year?
Emily Mortimer. Adored her on the Newsroom so much. Oh, or Cecila Pacquola.
Your biggest squee moment of the year?
Fanfiction Comedy. Discovering there was a comedy show where comedians write fanfiction and read it to the crowd was all kinds of squee.
Oh, or Paul Sings! - bounced off the walls for WEEKS after this show. So glad it was filmed for DVD.
The moment Meredith told Derek she was pregnant on Grey's... Patrick Dempsey's face was just perfect and it's nice to see something good happen to those two for once - of course, that probably means that Shonda is about to kill off the adopted baby, the impending baby, Christina, Derek's hand, and any hope of happiness either of them ever have but whatever - it was cute.
The most missed of your old fandoms?
Tennant fandom. it really died a hard death this year. But next year is looking good, there's a bunch of promising stuff coming from Mr Tennant.
The fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to?
None. I try them out as soon as I think of them, so I've either tried them, or I don't know about them yet.
Your biggest fan anticipations for the coming year?
The new Tennant stuff - more Paul - the comedy festival (yay comedians to stalk). return of Bunheads, Newsroom, et all.
